Using Linkedin
Does anyone find using Linkedin to be frustrating? It shouts out that you are long term unemployed and makes it impossible to start up new connections unless you have an effective network. The connections I seem to get are at my old company that laid me off and a connection to an old boyfriend. These are connections I rather not use.
Getting connections is agonizingly slow. Less and less are companies are listing their employees or they are private so you are unable to find or make any connections.

Re: Using Linkedin
I stay away from sites like "Branch Out" on FB also just because it wants to include my circle of friends without their consent. Its just a way to build up their database for whatever they feel like doing with it.

Re: Using Linkedin
How to deal with the employment gap is the issue, not where one chooses to post.
That indeed is a stigma, no doubt.
