**Put a "Face on the Unemployed" by Nov. 30!!**
I just received this E-Mail this morning......send www.Unemployedworkers.org your stories as well.
Dear Alan,
Recently, we asked unemployed workers to send us your stories, and many hundreds of you responded directly -- and we want to thank you for that!
Starting with an event this Wednesday, Nov. 30 we will begin bringing many of those stories to Congress as we campaign for a 2012 renewal of federal unemployment insurance and urge Congress to take additional steps to help avert layoffs, create good jobs, end discriminatory job market practices that exclude the unemployed, and get real help to long-term unemployed workers including those who have exhausted unemployment benefits.
Now, we also want to put a face on America's unemployment crisis -- and not just a face, but many faces, hundreds of faces, even thousands of faces.
We want to build a visual, photo mosaic -- a montage of pictures from America's unemployed workers -- and help launch it at a Nov. 30 event on Capitol Hill with unemployed workers, Rep. Sander Levin (D-MI) and other Members of Congress supporting legislation to renew federal unemployment insurance through 2012.
So, please send us your picture! Here's how:
1. Create a new email message (note: do not reply to this email)
2. In the 'Subject' line put: "Unemployed Picture"
3. In the 'To' line put this email address: mi12yes@gmail.com (that's a special email for Rep. Levin's Nov. 30 event-planning staff)
4. In the 'Cc' line put this email address: Unemployedworkers.org@gmail.com (so that we get a copy too)
5. Attach a photo of yourself to the email
6. And, optionally, you may put your first name and your state in the email body (again, this is optional)
7. Send the email!
Please note that we will not use the photos in any direct association with any stories you may have submitted previously. The visual photo mosaic montage is intended for stand-alone use at the event and our website to help lift the shroud of invisibility from today's mass unemployment crisis -- and help reinforce the message that we are not statistics, we are people, and we are real hardworking Americans.
Thanks for helping us put a face... many, many faces on our unemployment crisis!
Many, many thanks.
