Adbusters Targets Corporate Propaganda With #OccupyXmas
https://www.commondreams.org/headline/2011/11/25“Christmas has been hijacked for us,” said Kalle Lasn, editor-in-chief at Adbusters, a non-profit, Vancouver-based alternative magazine. “It’s become this ugly, soulless, consumer-fest.”
In a note on their website, the magazine asks supporters to “launch an all-out offensive to unseat the corporate kings on the holiday throne.”

I'm personally of the opinion that a one-day boycott doesn't accomplish as much as people would like to think, but do what you must. However, I would recommend that nobody do the whole "dump the cart after filling it up with a bunch of stuff" thing. That only makes things harder for some of the very people the movement should be looking to for support: the low level employees.

Yeah, And I think it might give credence to the "war on Christmas" meme that they love to trot out every year.
And sadly, I have a hard time seeing how you put a dent in this consumer madness. Did you hear about that woman pepper-spraying other shoppers so she could get first crack at the X-Box on sale today (or last night)?
