White House creates online petitions site
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/44358092/ns/politics-white_house/#.TmD7DmpuAWsThe White House is making it easier for people to press the federal government to act.
It is bringing that constitutional right to petition one's government into the digital age with a webpage, "We the People," where people can create and sign petitions seeking the government's action on a range of issues.
An official response is guaranteed for any petition that draws enough signatures — 5,000 names within 30 days — after it is reviewed by staff and the appropriate policy experts within the Obama administration.

Now we petition the White House for HR589, there should be no problem collecting 5,000 signatures with the millions of unemployed.
Can't wait for it to go live.

Sorry to be so negative today. Of course we will easily get 5,000 signatures. This will get us a response. What it will not get us is any thing passed by the House!!

Well stillnutty, it's worth a try. I just can't sit by and do nothing. If we try, we don't have to say we didn't try. I feel somewhat the same as I always have, numbers speak, if they actually see our real numbers Congress will respond, I think they are getting frightened now.
They played a dangerous game, they all agreed they wanted the President to fail, but in his failure comes theirs as well. They have fought every piece of legislation to create jobs, extend benefits and help those in need. Now they really do know our numbers and they have succeeded in not getting us help, now they have to answer to us. They have created zero jobs or programs, given no help to the unemployed, tried to cut off all help, cut off the 99ers completely and they think they did it to have the President be a one term President, but they didn't completely think it through, because we the people who are being choked first hand by their political threater have to answer to us.
