Obama bows to Boehner; jobs speech will be Sept. 8
First topic message reminder :
http://news.yahoo.com/obama-bows-boehner-jobs-speech-sept-8-013059529.htmlIn a retreat after an hours-long test of wills Wednesday, President Barack Obama agreed to deliver an address on jobs and the economy to a joint session of Congress on Sept. 8, yielding to House Speaker John Boehner, who had balked at Obama's request for a Sept. 7 speech.
Obama's address still gives him a grand stage to unveil his economic agenda, but it will compete with the opening game of the National Football League season — a conflict the White House wanted to avoid.
The change now will allow a planned Sept. 7 Republican presidential debate in Simi Valley, Calif., to proceed without Obama upstaging it.

You have to wonder, did he ever stand up for himself in the school yard, or was he referred to as "the sissy". Truly a sad thing.

I wonder what happened to those bullies. If they didn't grow and mature, I wonder how many or how few ended up being good, kind, law-abiding, thoughtful, and overall decent people. Although I was never bully nor sissy (fortunately, I've always been very tall and beefy for my age), I had no respect whatsoever for the former, and I have even less respect for adult bullies.

soon enough.
Obama will be the cause of a fascist Republican regime.
Obama's inaction will create the downfall of America.
Americans can not be patient with Obama's failure to take action.
Obama should have given a jobs speech on his first day in office.

I am actually glad it was moved. This way I can watch the crazy republican show and then watch the speech.

Obama and his staff are very smart. Scheduling Obama's jobs speech at the same time as the Republican debate meant that Republicans would naturally object and request that Obama choose another time to their liking. This gives Obama another chance to capitulate to the Republicans and in doing so appear weak and inept. Obama is doing everything in his power to bring about his own downfall. Obama likes to cry from self-inflicted wounds. His staff sets him up for failure and he carries out their wishes. The big losers are the American people. Will someone bring some smelling salts? The President seems to be dizzy. Maybe it is from so much bending over backwards.

Same here. I consider the debates to be one of the best tragicomedies ever presented on television. Someone should make an opera out of them. There are harpies, jesters, villains, madmen, philanderers, soothsayers, even a drug store cowboy. Too bad Mr. Trump isn't among the cast.

I actually think he should upstage it. Go back to the Sept 7th appointment. Not because I'm a fan of football, I'm not, but so Boehner doesn't get his way.
