confusing question about reopened extension, need advice:)
hi, i used to post on the old site and i just recently found this one, i hope i am posting in the right category. here is my situation. i was on unemployment in california since july 09. i was getting ready to be put on the 3rd extension in dec 2010, and at that time there was so much talk about the extensions ending, i started taking freelance typing work. i reported the income because i wanted to be honest and that flagged a phone interview, and when they called me i missed the call because they called at a different time than the letter (of course). they wrote me and said since i was "self employed" i could not file for unemployment until i was basically done doing freelance work, and i could reopen my claim my last job ended which was a work from home position doing transcribing, i called edd to see about filing a new claim, and they told me that the last company i worked for had yet to report any wages, (i think they have me categorized as a home worker or something that doesn't require them to pay into ui) oh well that is another story. anyway they said they would just put me back on the extension from my original claim and i would get claim forms. i sent in my claim form and didn't receive a check, so i called today and was told that my last day of work (for the at home job) was listed as the same day i reopened the claim. i had called last week because i made a mistake on the dates and asked them to fix it, and i guess they didn't. the woman i spoke to today fixed the date and told me she had "removed" the flag and i should be getting my checks based on the extension. has anyone experienced anything like this? sorry for such a long post, it has been a while since i have had to go through this unemployment nightmare and i couldn't believe when i called today that the person before didn't update my account. any advice would be appreciated, and i apologize if i posted in the wrong area:) thanks

This sounds pretty normal. If you get a check next week you should be fine. You will have to wait until you file your certification to find out.
