How can ANYONE support this bad of a president. He is another Bush and both of the evil parties, Democrat and Republican are WORKING together to give the little guy the shaft, notice they say no cuts for rich bankers or corporate welfare or endless wars. They want granny and the disabled to go live in the street. I got disabled friends, the disabled check is it, and they will be in the streets unless someone takes them in. My rent is paid with my disability check. We barely make it now, so what will happen? I even said to husband months ago, this economy is collapsing, even prepping was a laugh, because there wasn't any extra money.

They probably have emptied out the social security money too!

BOTH PARTIES ARE SCUM. Obama even threatened the disabled and old of this country to be bootlicker to the new world order. BOTH SIDES are working for the demise of this country. They do not care. A president who actually worked for American's and put our interests first and actually cared about people instead of sending all our money overseas for endless wars, would be the kind of prez this country needs. Obama and Bush are no different both have worked to destroy America. I have seen so much ruined here in 8 years. I was scared because they have cut our checks via de facto fiat, by no inflation increases and now looks like they may cut them all together.

I consider myself independent more and more everyday. I like what Sanders an Grayson have to say.

You do realize its wrong for the GOP to hold the debt ceiling over the SS head. They should not even be in the same conversation. The right will not end the tax cuts on the rich and that is what its about. Its a waste of money and the people want the rich to pay their fair share. Going back to the Clinton levels is whats best for the country. Sorry but the GOP will have to cave this time. Obama can't win if he caves again. You will blame him in a few months for caving again on the tax breaks.

Obama would be happy not to touch SS at all. He would rather balance the budget by ending the Bush tax giveways and oil subsidies. The GOP will not budge.

Obama is not threatening to take away SS, Medicare, Veteran's benefits, etc. All he is doing is warning the American people of what is going to happen if the GOP doesn't stop holding their breath and pouting until they get everything they want - which is good deals for the rich and cuts for the poor.

The GOP are to blame here. The President has offered to cross party lines to settle this debate, but the GOP's objective in all this is to ensure that Obama is a one term president. Their motives are not in the interest of the American people.

Next time, read the story before reading your own thoughts into the actual statement that was made.

Even Harry Reid is tweeting about the consequences of not raising the debt ceiling! Time for the GOP to grow up and stop acting on their self-serving interests!

I wonder how many elderly and sick people have had their health ruined by the remarks of Obama.

Both of the two evil parties including Obama support globalism and they have ruined this country. I think it's been according to plan.

I am very stressed and have been ill due to this, I may be able to stay off streets because of husband, but many disabled friends may not be so lucky. I know Obama hates the poor as much as any corporate bootlicking Republican.

What part of the GOP will not budge ONE bit didnt you understand. Boehner has been on record saying they will not Budge as long as Obama is in office. PERIOD.

Springflowers, if the US does default, it will not be the fault of the President. Would you rather not have gotten a warning about this and just not have your check show up on August 3?

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell has clearly stated that his mission in the debt ceiling negotiations is to make President Obama a "one-term president". That is what should be making you sick!

As for being stressed and ill, there are approximately 8 million 99er's who are in worse shape. Absolutely no income, no health insurance in over three years, many homeless and no help in sight as the economy sinks deeper and deeper. What about them? At least the elderly and disabled know that their checks will resume when this is resolved, and the government is not going to allow it to continue for any length of time. You have hope -- we do not!
