W & M Committee Chairman Camp's statement on UE Report - Let the finger pointing begin!
"Not since the Great Depression has our unemployment rate been this high for this long, and yet the President has failed to address the issues that are making it hard for families and employers to get by. He has not offered a plan to deal with high gas and energy prices, there’s no plan from the White House to cut spending and he has off-loaded discussions on the debt. Worse yet, when the President does wade-in, his focus is on raising taxes – taxes that would directly hit the very investors and small businesses we need to create more jobs. The only thing as bad for job creation as higher taxes is the threat of higher taxes. Every time the President or someone in his Administration talks about raising taxes it becomes harder for the 14 million unemployed Americans to find a job.

Around the corner? From where I stand, it started in 2008, but no one ever talked about it.

Mr Camp can stick it where the sun doesn't shine.
We all know the republicans played no part on this failing economy.

friends, Miss nancy Pelosi did not help our causes either as she appointed not one single member of CBC at yesterday's meeting for any floor time to address the long term unemployment issue and HR 589, so if Mr. Camp is going to be or get blame, then equal blame needs to be given to Miss Pelosi for us being somewhat insulted with being left behind again.

There is plenty of blame to go around right now, that is for certain; however one party has been against the unemployed since the get go.
Re: W & M Committee Chairman Camp's statement on UE Report - Let the finger pointing begin!
My nerves are rattled as it is. Are they on another break next week? Which means nothing is going to get done in a couple of weeks? If they decide to bring #HR589 to the floor? Too much stalling and NOTHING is getting done........GRRRRRRRRR!!!!

Three working weeks in July (not all full weeks either) and then off until Sept. 6.

Statement from GOP Leader Cantor: ( )
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Eric Cantor (VA-07) today issued the following statement on the national jobs report for May:

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Eric Cantor (VA-07) today issued the following statement on the national jobs report for May:
“Today’s disappointing jobs report shows that our economy needs an injection of growth oriented policies to ensure that businesses can innovate, expand and begin hiring again. Under President Obama’s watch, Washington has tied the hands of small business owners with regulations that have made it harder to grow, and has spent money that it doesn’t have, leading to sustained unemployment over 8% and a national debt of more than $14 trillion. It is astounding that despite the warning signs and economic indicators, President Obama and Congressional Democrats still have failed to offer any concrete plan to create jobs, reduce our debt, or grow our economy. Instead, the President, Leader Reid and Leader Pelosi want to raise taxes on the very small business owners and entrepreneurs that we are relying on to create jobs, which House Republicans will not let happen.
“In contrast, House Republicans have offered a plan to grow the economy and create jobs. We want to empower small businesses and jobs creators by fundamentally reforming the tax code, instituting a sensible regulatory policy, and passing free trade agreements to increase competitiveness for American manufacturers to grow our economy and get people working again. We seek to modernize the patent system for entrepreneurs and expand American energy exploration and production to create new jobs. And we must get Washington’s fiscal house in order by cutting spending and growing our economy so we can begin paying down our debt.
“Our country faces a choice of more government spending and higher taxes, or more growth and more jobs and more economic certainty. It’s time to move away from the government stimulus spending spree and transition into growth-mode, creating an environment for America’s businessmen and women to succeed and creating jobs for people who need them.”

America’s businessmen and women to succeed and creating jobs for people who need them
This just says, HAND IT OVER TO BIG CORP and LET THEM DO as they please in THE FREE MARKET. WE have already seen WHAT letting BIG Corp DO AS THEY PLEASE after they robbed the Treasury in bailouts. Real GOOD plan GOPers.
We need to reevaluate this FREE MARKET into a FAIR MARKET, then maybe something will get done. As long as it's FREE, They will BE FREE to DO whatever they want and WHAT they WANT is SLAVE labor, pissant WAGES, NO Medical BENEFITS, NO VACATION etc. That is the so called FREE MARKET these days.
