I Was Denied 2 Jobs Last Week Feeling Pretty Down

Hi Everyone: I did not get the job I wanted-yes I am grateful that I made the interview phase but obviously a "Yes you got it" is what I have been seeking the last 7 months. Thank God EB is in place now food was getting quite short this past week I can breathe again. I think a judgement on my credit probably contributed to me not getting the job my interview lasted 4 hours that day so you can imagine my .disappointment. I will continue to be positive and fight the fight. The second job op was a 2 month temp assignment frankly I did not like the office vibe or the fact the people interviewing me were expressing their discontent regarding other dept employees I think I wanted too much money-something will come my way may just take a bit longer.

I find the fact you had two interviews in one week very encouraging! Don't get discouraged or give up! You have to hold out hope!

During my period of unemployment, beginning in March 2008, I think I have only had 6 face to face interviews and several phone interviews. I was thrilled last week when a company called me, after a 4 month drought of not even getting a response from the resumes and applications I send out daily. I actually have an interview this Friday! I haven't had one since early December 2010. Unfortunately, the job is 50 miles away, so if I did get it, I would be traveling 100 miles a day.

I have been a "99er" for almost 15 months and fear I will never have the opportunity for decent paying, living wage job due to the duration of my unemployment.

I'm sorry, irish. Maybe the one for you is right around the corner. And you never know, this one that got away may have not been all that you thought. They almost never are, for better or worse.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you, Desperate! I know 50 miles away is tough, but it's a start. If you get back to work, I think you might find yourself getting more calls for other jobs.
