Taken together, the catch phrases & comments coming from the White House and the CBC ('creative ways' to help..., attaching HR589 to another, larger bill...,) as well as the lack of details about any specific progrms, ideas or plans moving forward - combined with reports that the Obama administration is working behind the scenes on potential executive orders and the GOP reneging on the tax cut compromise to extend unemployment benefits with the introdution of HR1745, there may very well be something in the works with respect to the HR589 and help for the 99ers.

That would be amazing....Honestly, I was wondering if they were up to something like that. Executive order...bring it on!!

It seems to be the only way bills of importance to the poor, unemployed, middle class, and elderly will ever get passed. I hope if they determine it will hold up legally, he will take the bull by the horns and go for it.

I think he is going to threaten the GOP with an Executive Order for some other piece of legislation they want in order to push this through or have it attached to 1745 with stipulations and amendments. No Executive Orders by any President has ever held up in the courts.

I'm glad to see he may actually be actually strengthening his spine and giving it right back to the Republicans by holding something they want hostage.

It ought to be very interesting to see how all these things play out next week when they come back.

Blog: Has the GOP reneged on the Dec tax-cut compromise with their JOBS Act? 938557 Maybe they al have to pass an ethic and common sense test or they will be recalled. One can only hope. At any rate though, this is excellent news, if it was'nt for so much being at stake for so many it might actually be entertaining.
