Tweeters - Please Help a beginner!

1208 you need to sign up to twitter its real easy. Just CLICK tweet and sign up! We already have a network of 99ers so you will meet people other people quick. If you like thier message you can hit retweet. We made yahoo news a few weeks ago.

This goes for everybody please sign up if you want to fight back!

Thanks, I posted a statement on another post I guess and said I am not familiar how to twitter? It appears too complicated. It may be simple but instruct me how again and I am there! I have a tweeter account with password. But after I access its confusing how to bring up site??

OK, I just signed on to twitter. Then I type in unemployed and a site came up saying 99ers unemployed.. Is this it?? Or what??

Hit
the tweet button on this forum on your left. Sign into your twitter
and then click tweet. Once the tweet window comes up look for the "view
on twitter link" click that. It should go to your home page

On top is a "who to follow" put in 99er or whoever you want. You will find peope fast.

You can view other peoples followers and follow people that way. that is how i started

Its intimidating at first but you will get the hang of it in no time!

Look at the top of this picture, next to "Twitter" - you will see a "search box". Type in @exhausted99er and it will bring my info up in the right column. Look for the green (I believe) "Follow" button and click on it. You are now following me.

Go back to search and repeat, but in the search box type @darthtater36 (getthem), again hit the follow button in the right column.

In the picture above, see the "What are you doing".....that is where you type your message. All messages must begin with @ --

To tweet me, type in that "what are you doing box" @exhausted99er ...and then your message.

Here is another example, to tweet the President:

@BarackObama Will you support the #99ers? We are dying! #HR589

To tweet John Boehner:

@GOPLeader Where are the #jobs! Bring #HR589 to the floor NOW! #99ers are dying! #WeVote

Notice that in front of all the key words I added #. This is called a "hashtag" and identifies the topics you are tweeting about and calls attention to the subject. It is important to do that.

For tomorrow's twitter chat, begin all your questions with @HouseDemocrats. After your question, add #AskDems. Here is an example:

@HouseDemocrats When will you bring #HR589 to the Floor? Will you help the #99ers #AskDems

What name did you use on twitter and I will follow you.

I just followed you and tweed you.

I followed you 1208...

You know that box at the top of your twitter home page? that is where you type your tweets...once you hit send everyone will see what you tweet.

You have to use the @ symbol before each name like this

then type your message. Take a practice run!

Follow this and do what S & T said! I already sent a tweet. All the other stuff you see there are news and comment feeds from other tweeps.

You can do it..I figured it out myself! Between you and darthtater, Washington is in big trouble once you get the hang of it.

I got it a little. I clicked tweet on upper left. then I clicked on exhausted 99er then the s gaspar came up and I clicked follow..

K.. got it...

Ok, now try a message like I gave you an example of.

Tweet this:

@BarackObama I love you! Please help the #99ers

I called the House and Ways Committee today and asked when HR 589 is going to get discussed. I was informed that it depends on when the Chairperson wants to hear it. Our fate is laying in the Hands of this one person holding it up. Please call 202-225-3625 and let them hear your voice. I informed the girl that we were tired of being put last and that if the Committee would work more than 3 days a month we would get stuff accomplished in this country. I also informed her that I will no longer be treated like a 3rd class citizen by this committee. I wanted them all replaced and I will be voting each and everyone of them out come next election.
