I have spent it weeding and mowing my yard for the first time this year. I am going to get cleaned up and go to Denny's for the free breakfast and then watch the ball game. I hope we can win for a change!

I'd love to get outside and start cleaning my perennial garden, but I know we are going to have another frost. I can see shoots starting to come up but don't want to rake the fall debris out yet. It is good insulation against the frost. At least the trees are starting to turn green. That is a happy sight after this winter - I never thought we would see the grass again with all the snow we had!

Yeah tell me about it...Talk about a smack in the face, or better yet a punch in the throat...

But I cant complain, I know many here have been 99ers for a LONG time now.

Somebody changed my avatar and never changed it back. idk

So the first day was ok but I have to tell you people have no mercy for the unemployed. I had to bite my tounge quite a few times today and nicely inform them on what is really happening.

The media has done a great job of hiding the truth. People seem to understand there is a jobs problem but the problem is the fault of the unemployed. no

Your avatar was changed yesterday. You even posted as Donald Trump. Have you checked your age, your ue status and your signature lately. That was changed yesterday also.

Here is your old avatar. Good thing you went to bed early, one of our members had offered to let us use his - a shirtless man with a mullet, but you were already signed off.

Mostly that 99 weeks is enough and if you can't find a job by then its your fault. I gave all the facts I could and blew some peoples minds. They really had NO IDEA?

Real unemployment rate is near 18%
Older unemployed are being forgotten.
One job for every 7 seven people. That is low balling it in most states.
One of my questions was, Do you really think people would rather be homeless than work? That one made them think.

We have a good system in NY if you need help. People don't realize not every state has these programs and they are going broke too.

40 plus million on foodstamps, People had no idea of this.

Basic non-informed People with jobs they should be lucky to have.

I am telling you nothing other than marching in huge groups will help. Sympathy is running low out there for the jobless.

I am just messing with you desperate bout the avatar Razz

that confirms my suspicions...people have no clue. We need to find a way to get the facts out to ordinary working people. I have a feeling if most truly knew what is happening, they would be horrified and help us fight.

@Getthem, how was your first day?

Rewarding, from going back to school and being so broke I have to photocopy all the books I needed to 250 hour internship now to finally a job it feels very surreal. It flew by too and I got to drive a boat and a stick shift truck, both of which I have not done in a few years. I realize how the smallest thing make me happy.

I pray for the day we all have jobs. Praying

Started raining here too this afternoon. A cold rain. I forgot today was Patriot's Day in MA. Boston Marathon day. At least the weather was good for the runners.

Hard to keep track of weekends and holidays when you are in our situation. The days just seem to all run toghether. Sad

Awakened by NOAA weather radio going off and there is egg size & baseball size hail all around me. I have had penny size hail. The worst is yet to come. One TV weather guy said the bowling ball low pressure system is going to cause things to explode over us. It's going to be in the 80's, then a cold front all on top of us rather than the usual moving in from the west. Not just tornadoes but STRONG tornadoes. Homes windows are being broken and car windshields smashed south of me.

I am making a "go bag" up after the morning storms pass. What will happen today has me on edge as I don't have a basement. This has the potential to be very scary. Weather radio going off for third time this morning. More hail headed this way.

The morning storms are nothing compared to what will happen late this evening. They are predicting a tornado outbreak like NC. I have a really bad feeling about this.

"The early morning thunderstorms exit quickly...the atmosphere goes quiet then and re-charges...setting the stage for a very severe weather outbreak...3pm to 9pm across the Fox 2 viewing area. The line will explode very close to STL...with tornadoes, large hail, dangerous lightning, heavy rain and flooding, and 70+ mph straight line winds...stay up to date on the weather this afternoon..."

Sick & Tired, I have been here 6.5 years and never heard a prediction this dire. The National Weather Service is forecasting the same thing. This isn't good. I am going to pack my homeowners policy in my "go bag" for sure. I will be putting all of my pillows in my hall closet. Cell phone already charged up.

Is there a friend or relative near by that has a basement you could go to?

Thanks Jane. I have a lot of pillows and will pad the closet the best I can. The closet is between the bathroom outer wall and inner hallway wall. They say to put as many walls as you can in between that is in the center of the house. I wish I didn't have crappy hollow doors. I'll out my flashlight and weather radio in there. I have only gotten in there once before. I have no chance of grabbing my old kitty. Last time she disappeared. I hope she ran under the bed.

S&T, not really. They are not sure when it's going to hit except late this afternoon or early evening. My one sister goes to sleep at 6PM as she gets up at 3AM so that would be weird. She & my brother-in-law are both at work and I don't have a key to their house.

All the local stations are making it sound like Armageden. I have everything charged up or charging like my lantern. It's up to 84 already & humid making it feel like 88. Our normal is 68.

My "go bag" just needs to have my laptop loaded.

Jimmy, I hope I wasn't in it too! Wink

I'll check back in later.
