Chairman Ryan’s Baseless Attack on SNAP/Food Stamps
Falsely claiming that the nation’s most important anti-hunger program — SNAP, formerly called food stamps — is experiencing “relentless and unsustainable growth,” House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan calls for converting it into a block grant. The truth is that SNAP’s recent growth is temporary and reflects the battered economic circumstances of tens of millions of Americans due to the recession; SNAP is not contributing to the nation’s long-term fiscal problem. And block-granting SNAP would largely destroy its ability to respond to rising need during future recessions, forcing states to cut benefits or create waiting lists for needy families.

SNAP is unsustainable? OMG, how did these people get elected?

Unsustainable due to the current economic climate in which mostly THEY created.
Notice how all cuts are aimed at the poor. Defense spending goes untouched, then lets not forget those tax cuts for the "wealthy" too. I say "Wealthy" because you are either Poor now or "Wealthy" NO more rich, no more upper middle class , lower middle class or just basic good ole American middle middle class.
When will the American people wake up and see whats happening as we speak?
My guess is when its too late and ONLY when it hits their home.
As the old saying goes, out of sight out of mind. Hindsight etc..
People need to wake up and see what they voted for in November.

Sick to my stomach is all I can feel when these heartless beestards TAKE, TAKE, TAKE!
Oh yeah....and What did all of this change bring last November when they were voted in. TURMOIL, HATE, DISCRIMINATION ....fill in the blank. I feel like I don't even live in American anymore.
WHAT THE AMERICAN PEOPLE WANT IS SOMETHING MORE THAN A BUNCH OF MONKIES THAT SIT AND FLIG POO AND EVERYBODY THEY CAN. It's prob. a good thing I don't live anywhere near D.C. because I would problably be in jail for doing something crazy to a republican.
$200 a month on my EBT card is the only light at the end of my very dark tunnel.

Re: Chairman Ryan’s Baseless Attack on SNAP/Food Stamps
They don't understand that the rise in Snap is largely due to the 99ers in the last twelve months. Believe it or not. Ask anyone at your social services office, since March 2010 when the 99ers numbers grew substantially, the significant increase occurred and it's going to get worse.
Medicaid and Charity Care grew significantly as well in 2010.
Paul Ryan is looking out for Paul Ryan's chances of getting re-elected again with his base. He as well as the others know it's got no chance of passing. By the way, the Speaker looks like he sweating bullets. He has no control over his party, they are all going in different directions and not one that he needs them to go in. Now the President has said, they are staying until they get a budget. Let's see what happens. Rep. Ryan coming out with this budget for dreamland has just re-energized the Dems and I think it's about time.
