On Pins and Needles Waiting
For the phone call that either says "Yes or no" Had the face to face on Thursday went well but he was an hour late getting to me and I told him that I had to be out no later then 615 (it as 5 when we started) I had to be home by 7 for my kids as my sitter had somewhere to be shortly after. Interview was to start at 4. Anyhow, I filled out the application and such so lets hope that they offer something to me....And that it's not an insulting offer.
If they go with the low range of their pay then I can't take it as crazy as it stands but I'd actually LOSE money by going to work there and having to pay for care for my 3 kids.

That is crazy and inconsiderate of the employer to be an hour late for a scheduled interview! Again, it is an employer's market and they can do what they please. That must have been so frustrating!
I hope you hear some good news SOON and that the pay will at least cover child care and gas expense!
Praying for you, Eddie, good luck!

Yeah he came out at like 4:15 and said "I'm running about 10 minutes late" and then 45 minutes later he comes out. I was extremely aggravated as I sat there waiting.
Thanks DIRI for the prayers...My qualifications should put me in the higher end but we all know how it is now a days.

Re: On Pins and Needles Waiting
EddieK, I am wishing you luck. It is absolutely inconsiderate to have kept you waiting, as they wouldn't consider you if you ran in right at the appt. time. I don't want to worry you, but it is an old tactic used in alot of interviews to gauge your reaction to being kept waiting, your stressors, so to speak. Please let us know how you make out, we are all praying for you.

Hang in there Eddie, Ive had to wait for most of my interviews and it is a bit aggravating, but Mary Kay is absolutely right, they do this on purpose.
Re: On Pins and Needles Waiting
Ugh, got the phone call and they wanted to let me that they will extend me an official offer tomorrow. However, I firmly believe that their offer is going to come in ridiculously low since she said "We are going to try and compensate you for your experience." Translation=Don't expect the higher end of the pay range.....I simply can't take the job if the offer comes in on the lower end it would mean negative income for me after daycare for my children.

Re: On Pins and Needles Waiting
"Compensate you for your experience" could be a good offer. When they call tomorrow, just tell them what you expect. They will probably start out with an offer at the lower end of the pay scale, tell them with that your experience and qualifications, you are worth more than that. They may be ready to negotiate.
On the bright side, you may receive an offer that is better than what you are expecting.

Thanks DIRI I will keep a positive outlook. I'd hate to have to turn down a job because I would end up losing money by having a job.

Re: On Pins and Needles Waiting
Got the offer......AND It came in at the highest end possible the only drawback is that they want me to go to South Dakota for a week and while normally it wouldn't be an issue but with my wife's retail schedule and when she closes she doesn't get home till 11ish at night which makes traditional daycare available for that timeframe so now I have to figure something out quick for that week otherwise I'll have to turn it down.

Oh I am Originally when the job was presented I would be headed out there over my kids spring break which would've been perfect because they could have been brought to my parents but it's the week after....I'm so excited
