Japanese Earthquake & Tsunami on going after shocks and Tsunami warnings.

This is an actual report, and it a separate topic than the political topic in the "Politics" forum.

I've heard back from one of the members on my website who lives in Tokyo, Japan and he's reporting that Tokyo is doing fine. They didn't suffer any real damage. Apparently, the real damage from the Earthquake took place in Sendai. The deaths were a result of the tsunami that hit Japan as a result of the Earthquake and that the deaths were not caused by the Earthquake itself.

Do NOT post about the unemployment issue in this topic. There already exists a topic for that issue in the Politics forum.

Please only post your condolences, support and prayers for the Japanese people.

UPDATE: Rather than continuously updating the topic title, it has edited one last time to reflect everything involving the earthquake and tsunami.

Either Godzilla or have Gamera sweep in and save the human race once again. He is "Guardian of the Universe" after all. Where's Green Lantern or Superman when you really need them.

In the area of the San Onofre nuclear power plant, on the coast about halfway between L.A. and San Diego, there are no big faults off shore but there are some a ways inland. Another danger to such plants, as was pointed out by a local news crew, is attack by aircraft. A local news reporter practically buzzed the plant in his private plane, with no attempt to stop him at all, while reporting on the susceptibility of the plant to being crashed into by an aircraft.

Thanks, aloneinpa. The funny thing is, I didn't even know that they were living in Sendai until I received his email. They had been living in Tokyo, and when they visited here in L.A. last month they didn't mention anything about moving and I didn't ask.

They are now reporting that a 4th reactor is now on fire....is anyone else seeing or hearing this?

Anderson Cooper is on my crap list. I simply cannot stand this guy ... especially after his coverage of the Egyptian protests.

More bad news. According to a recent article, Japan's stock market future's plunged 14% before automatic triggers shut down all trading. This coming after news that Japan's PM announced that radiation was leaking from one of the four reactors and other news that there have been four explosions at that power plant.

This coming after news that Monday's stock had only dropped 7% but that construction was reporting as being up.

Whether or not you like him, I posted that because even journalists are leaving the area now. Just happened to pick that up on Twitter.

Well, I just thought it was poor judgment for Anderson to be in an area that he knows is a dangerous situation and yet he places himself in harms way?

I've heard about going after your story but when you become the story ... it's just reckless behavior.

Two Michigan residents, who found themselves in the center of the Japanese earthquake/tsunami disaster have been found:

Paul Fales, a 2010 Eastern Michigan University graduate and son of an Ann Arbor attorney, has been found alive and well four days after he went missing in the wake of the tsunami that struck Japan.

Breaking News CNN: Stocks plunge at the open, with Dow sinking more than 280 points on Japan earthquake fears.

The Dow Jones industrial (INDU) tumbled 216 points or 1.8% in the first two minutes of trading.

It's just The situation in Japan just keeps worse. Last night, 140,000 Japanese were told to stay in their homes because of the threat of the radiation coming from the nuclear reactors.

After yesterdays loss of 52 points and todays accumulated loss of 215 points (so far), it's about to get worse. They're now saying that the world's supply of automobile supply could be severely affected by this and with production of automobiles said to be delayed until, at least, April, it could get much worse.

Did you know that there was an earthquake off the coast of Japan on December 21, 2010? Was this a warning of things to come?

It seems that the "ring of fire" is more active lately. Almost all of the places you listed are part of the "ring of fire". I don't know what the "big picture" is or if people can do anything about it.
