Re: Gov. Scott Walker Has Lost The War
Scott Walker, while he may have started this budget crisis of his with the noblest of intentions, has become an embarrassment to the Republican Party.
Let's see, he's attacked public union workers, sent layoff notices to all teachers, openly criticized Democratic lawmakers ... and the latest incident? Police officers attacking one of the Democratic lawmakers who returned for some personal items.
Not only does he still refuse to back down but he can't even figure out how to do that gracefully. We've even seen this protest escape the state of Wisconsin and it has infected Indiana and Ohio and even drew the criticism of the Obama Administration.
Scott Walker needs to relent and go back to the negotiating table, with the Unions and with Democratic Lawmakers.

He has been used and will be thrown away next by the Koch brothers. I hope they find some dirt on him and throw him in jail.

Re: Gov. Scott Walker Has Lost The War
My intent on posting this link is to NOT stir up controversy regarding abortion on the forum…it is only intended to inform forum readers of other planned changes in Gov. Walker’s present bill to defund Planned Parenthood.
Most media reports indicate 95% of Planned Parenthood’s services are for cervical and prostate cancer screening and access to birth control and testing.
I have no public position on abortion, but I do have a public opinion about removing women’s right to receive cancer screening. While in College my roommate could not afford the cost of health insurance or an expensive private physician GYN appointment so she utilized Planned Parenthood for her annual visit. (Both her parents were deceased and she was covering all university costs herself). She was diagnosed with cervical cancer relating to medication her mother took while pregnant with her. If Planned Parenthood had not been a cheaper alternative to costly private physician she would be dead today.
Fast forward to today. I have multiple unemployed female friends with no health insurance utilizing Planned Parenthood for their annual GYN and cancer screenings including mammography and whether I support or NOT support abortion is not relevant. What is relevant to me is I SUPPORT my friends right to receive cancer screenings when neither jobs or health insurance are available to them.

Scott Walker is wrong. Title X, which funds Planned Parenthood, has specific provisions that prevent Planned Parenthood from using Federal dollars from the program to perform abortions.
As usual, Walker continues to mislead the public and the voters.

I totally agree Kemcha. I cannot believe that republicans have any supporters in the working class anymore. I hate to think that Walker even represents republicans in general.
The lawmaker that was denied access to his office, he also had his key card deactivated as well, had his desk moved outside the capital to meet with his constituents. You would never hear about a republican doing something like that.
This situation in Wisconsin is turning into the first shot in a war for the working class.
Walker has to be recalled next year.

Re: Gov. Scott Walker Has Lost The War
They voted to totally eliminate funding for planned parenthood in the house.
Just another part of the republican plan to destroy the working class.
I wouldn't be surprised if the Dems go along with it they seem to fall for anything.
Worst poker players ever.

Re: Gov. Scott Walker Has Lost The War
This Planned Parenthood issue is typically what they do, just like the death panels. No federal funding is used for abortions anywhere. End of story. If it were found that a particular clinic or agency did, they risk loosing all of their federal funding. This is just another way for them to restrict what they personally do not believe in, while everyday selling their bunk of smaller, less invasive government. It's just nonsense. They want less government only on issues they will not support, but they want to control everything else we do and who and where we see physicians and get medical help.
When I first started to work after graduation (almost a hundred years ago) in 1972, womens health issues were not covered by the insurance at my company. I always went to Planned Parenthood in Philadelphia for my annual check ups etc because there were good Dr.'s and it was affordable, actually at that time you were asked to make a donation, not even charged a specific fee. There are many reasons these centers should be funded, but it seems it is all part of the master plan to dump on us again.
