I think I misread your comment. I thought you meant the thread was getting too political. Congress turned the unemployed into pawns. So I like to make fun of them whenever possible. Razz

No- I was responding to the Crabby Road cartoon about checking the toilet to see how the economy is doing. Did I hear the Senate is taking another vacation?

New 99er "Ex-Lax Attack" Campaign announced on Jobless Talk

It is time we mail Washington DC our Ex-lax, Seneca, fiber tablets, Metamucil, hell a half eaten bran muffin I don’t care and a note that explains why they must PASS HR 589 NOW or lose your job in 2012. We can’t wait and we will not forget or forgive no matter how much money you put toward your re-election!

I know many of you may not be able to afford to do this but get your youth and church groups involved in this and it may get us some press coverage to boot.

I think we all need to spread this campaign all over the net! EVERYWHERE!!! We need to send Washington DC massive amounts of ex-lax and tell the press and our members of Congress exactly WHY we are doing this! Or send them to the White House - This can also work to clearly convey to them the manure caliber job we feel they are doing in office.

Ex-Lax is just the term I am using, but any laxative will do - and just about everyone has an old laxative of some sort in their medicine cabinet. Don’t go out and buy anything special. We don’t want them to benefit from the product we are sending them. We just want to send a clear message that Congress is constipated!

It wouldn't even get to the Capitol! They don't accept packages unless they are expected! I can just hear the media reports: '99ers clog Postal system with Ex-Lax'. As if we don't look bad enough in the media!

We would be the "butt" of all kinds of nasty jokes in Congress and in the media!

The main reason I wouldn't do it is because I cannot afford Ex-Lax to begin with and wouldn't be able to buy it if I needed it! Right, I am going to buy a package of Ex-Lax, pay for postage and send it, knowing that the package is never going to get through the Congressional mail clearinghouse when I don't have a friggin dime to my name.

The writer has lost it!

Wow, thought I landed at The Onion for a second, so this is a serious idea. Maybe it's just me but something like the 'pink slip' to CONgress campaign seems a better idea. I was under the impression there are rules as to what you can send to them, I would hate to see someone go to jail over this idea.

I do know of a case where someone sent a a package of bacon to a local office of Boehner's over the passage of TARP in 2008 and since the bacon was leaking it was treated as a bomb scare. I don't know what ever happened but my advice is tread lightly with ideas like this, like in don't do it.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/07/14/jon-stewart-marcus-bachmann-jerry-seinfeld_n_898051.html

At the top of the show, Stewart worked up to his bit with Seinfeld by marveling at Dr. Bachmann's behavior, from his advice that a young gay man remain celibate to his calling bi-curious teenagers "barbarians" that must be "disciplined." But it was footage of him dancing that really set Stewart off:
