Unemployment at 40%. Or, Ethics in counting.
The labor department released a report today, 3/3/2011. I just read it. All over the media they’re trumpeting a drop in unemployment, proclaiming jobs growth, and predicting a surge in the economy. Either that’s spin, or they’re reading an entirely different department of labor report than the one I’m looking at. I’ve delved into how the media portrays things, and how journalists will print whatever either scares people, sounds good, and/or makes advertisers happy. I’ve also mentioned how the journalism requirements for college have no math required for graduation beyond “business math.” That means they know how to use a calculator.

DUH!!!!! Sounds more like it. Those who control the numbers to justify their existence. 40% unemployed, I can buy that as REALITY. Too bad the skunks in DC won't.

Watching Morning Joe they are acting like it's the 4th of July reporting an 8.9% unemployment rate today!! Whoopee!! Additionally 192,000 net new jobs were added? Where? I'm so skeptical about the whole thing that I don't know what to believe anymore or who to trust.
