it is my understanding, from reading history that riots such as this are caused when people get HUNGRY....and the powers that be are cutting foodstamps.....
 
what a bunch of maroons we have for politicians

Based on GDP, Brazil has the world's sixth largest economy, and the second largest in the western hemisphere, behind the US. They are a very stable and prosperous nation, and their poverty percentage is now lower than that of the US.

I suppose if such civil unrest and rioting could occur in a country like Brazil, it can probably happen here as well, especially if the gap between the have's and the have-not's continues to grow.
