January Jobs Report: U.S. Economy Adds 157,000 Jobs; Unemployment Rate Up To 7.9 Percent

U.S. employers added 157,000 jobs in January and hiring was stronger over the past two years than previously thought, providing reassurance that the job market held steady while economic growth sputtered.

Yeah they have been COOKED.
7.9 WHAT A JOKE. That's why every third person I know is UNEMPLOYED.
Add in the involuntary part-timers and underemployeds and I'd say 50%

Yep, and the Obama administration is telling you how the economy is improving. The media goes right along with it. This is a dangerous precedent. No one questions the BS that the White House puts out. Imagine if Bush were still in office. Just sayin

While today's jobs numbers show the unemployment rate has gone down. It's a good sign of improvement. However, some conservatives doubt it. They believe that Obama Administration "tampered" with the figures shown in jobs report. The report illustrated thousands of jobs had been produced in September, and that the joblessness rate had plummeted to 7.8 percent. Read more: Jobs Report.

The jobs reports are right. What they don't mention is that most all of these jobs are part-time, minimum wage jobs. The new unemployment rate will be released tomorrow. Liberal, Conservative, Tea Party, Progressive, Socialist, WHO CARES??? This isn't a partisan game, it is American's lives that are being destroyed. Time to find a solution rather than pointing fingers!

Where did they get this 7.8% figure? It's 5.9%, the lowest in 6 years!jovanE wrote:While today's jobs numbers show the unemployment rate has gone down. It's a good sign of improvement.
