I was victim to a workforce reduction in September and now see "they" hired two people in my same position, WTF? Anyone else had this happen to them and did you have any recourse?

The Bureau of Labor Statistics releases its monthly jobs report the first Friday of every month. This month's report, like so many others since the economy took a dive, will be reviewed and analyzed by researchers, economists, policy experts and Wall Street.

That has been the trend for several years now. Employers "reduce" their longtime employees and replace them with part-time, low paid, no benefit employees or they hire illegally on a 1099 basis to save tons of tax and insurance money. Unless you are under contract or part of a union, you have no recourse at all. "EMPLOYMENT AT WILL". Evil or Very Mad

I can attest to the 1099 aspect. Been on one for a year now and actively seeking better employment.

If you are over 40 years old you can. However age discrimination is very hard to prove.

Yes --- in 2008. If you are an older worker (no matter how well you performed your job) or if you don't blend in to the culture (work place cliques). Don't take it personally --- this is the new world economy.
