Re: Unemployment Rate Increased!
As far as getting out benefits it's okay though...because this new bill cuts the weeks according to the unemployment rate...

Re: Unemployment Rate Increased!
We need to rekindle our ideas, creativity, and drive to help the country turn around. And the hard "cushion" some of us still have will be gone as the tiers are traversed but no real amendments long term for buoyancy will be at the end.
Thinking caps on, I'll ask for input at a more reasonable hour.
And thanks Marian. Really appreciate your posts.

Re: Unemployment Rate Increased!
The unemployment rate is still officially at 8.3%, per the US Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics. The Gallup information is always published about a week before the official numbers are released, and has always been higher than the actual rate. While I don't doubt that Gallup is right, let's not panic yet. The regional and individual state stats will be released next Thursday, and the new US Unemployment Rate will be released on Friday, March 2.
Let's keep our fingers crossed that things ARE getting better.

Re: Unemployment Rate Increased!
It would not be "okay" under any circumstances for the UE rate to go up! Yes, those still receiving benefits would be alright for a little while, but these benefits are going to end sooner than later. As long as the UE rate remains high, the exhaustees chances for finding employment get slimmer and slimmer. More unemployed will be joining the ranks as the weeks of eligibility decrease under the new extension agreement.Marian wrote:As far as getting out benefits it's okay though...because this new bill cuts the weeks according to the unemployment rate...
We need jobs and job creators, not an economy that keeps sinking. Very soon, we will ALL be without and take it from me, it is a miserable life.

Re: Unemployment Rate Increased!
I understand that... I'm a little reactive I suppose because I'm worried about my own benefits with this new bill. It's scary and I'm trying VERY hard to find a job. I'm disappointed that Obama signed this bill.

Re: Unemployment Rate Increased!
When the Labor Dept. releases the Unemployment numbers next week it will be interesting to see. I'm sure they will find a way to portray the numbers as going down even more causing TickerTape Parades all over the U.S. to Salute how great the Economy is Once again.
In the meantime I still sit in CA with no job after 3 years unemployed and still apply and still struggle and still live on $200 on EBT! But hey I'm celebrating....whooooo Hooo! According to the GOP & Seems like the Dems now too...this is the Good Life! Now excuse me while I BARF!
