Approximately 150,000 new jobs created in January, surveys show

The Department of Labor will issue the January jobs report on Friday (2/3) at 8:30 a.m. Surveys carried out by the major financial news agencies expect the report to show that approximately 150,000 new jobs were created in the month:

Nonfarm payroll estimates
Reuters +150,000
Bloomberg +150,000

Unemployment, however, will remain at 8.5%
