Many Thanks To All ~
Good Morning and Happy New Year to all my friends and family.
I really appreciate all your thoughts, prayers, emails and pms. I am sorry to have been silently absent for as long as I was.
To make a long story short (as short as I can).
Dad developed complications from his early December chemo and has had swelling in the feet and ankles, which with heart issues, has to be checked, tested etc. Blood clots are always a worry. Last Thursday, after they decided to give him the last chemo of the year, he fell, broke his left wrist badly and has 20 stitches in the index and pinky fingers on the right had, a cut nose and is scraped and bruised badly, mainly to the blood thinners etc.
My brother who suffered a paralyzing stoke 6 years ago has developed an infection in his affected foot and may lose two toes. This is not uncommon with paralization, but you always hope it won't happen. They are trying to treat the infection and we are praying. Unfortunately, he is in Lewes DE which is two plus hours away and won't come up here so we are bouncing back and forth. Rich and I strongly convinced Dad he has to be with us for now and he is doing okay with it, we think. I know he would rather be in his own home, but we can't work it out right now, and he needs help with everything. Once we meet with the ortho and find out if the wrist needs a pin and they take the stitches out, he may be more mobile, but the chemo continues and he's weak.
I will be on and off, my phone is still working and I will work the phones on behalf of the 99ers and additional months for UE, February is only a month away. I just may not be as visible here or on twitter for a few more weeks.
Thank you all for the thoughts, prayers, emails and pms. When time permits, I will contact you all individually, please don't take my silence as rudeness. You all mean so much to me.
Again, Happy New Year, Thank you and I miss you.
Love,
mk
A big thank you to Sick&Tired, Jobless, Desperate and X. I just disappeared on you and left you wondering. Many apologies, couldn't be helped. Dad has no computer and when I left three weeks ago, it was for the day, never took my phone charger with me.
