I find this a little hard to believe.

The U.S. labor market strengthened in November as private employers continued to add jobs at a healthy pace, and the unemployment rate fell to its lowest level since March 2009.

Nonfarm payrolls rose by 120,000 last month, the U.S. Labor Department reported Friday in its monthly survey of employers. Private companies added 140,000 jobs, while the public sector—federal, state and local governments—lost 20,000 jobs.

The unemployment rate, obtained by a separate survey of U.S. households, fell to 8.6% in November from 9.0% the previous month. The rate hadn't been below 9% since March, when it was 8.8%. The rate is now lower than at any point since March 2009, when it was 8.6% as well.

12/2/11 Unemployment Slips to 8.6% as Private Sector Adds Jobs Empty Re: 12/2/11 Unemployment Slips to 8.6% as Private Sector Adds Jobs

It's once again riduculous. Not that 8.6% is something to celebrate, but let's look at this.

The factors determining the rate.

New Jobs Created
New Claims
Existing Claims

Okay, here's the fun part for all us 99ers. Our favorite part, no longer looking. (Which means no longer collecting benefits)

June 2008 through November 2009 was the heaviest period of job losses recorded. Those who started collecting unemployment during that period have exhausted benefits, which does reduce the overall unemployment numbers, as we are no longer counted.

Again, 8.6% is nothing to celebrate. While I am happy to see that jobs are being created, the initial claims still outweigh them, as we all know, making it next to impossible to find a job.

Then of course, we have to watch January and February to make sure the "seasonally adjusted" jobs # doesn't completely change things up.
As commented from msnbc from the floor of Wall Street this morning, these numbers are never carved in stone.

Yep, Not hard to imagine that someone nameless is riding off the backs of the unemployed for a personal gain and that is, Those who have run out of benefits and so called not looking reflects on the 8.6%. What a sham and lie! Spit in the face of the unemployed 99er's. I have always said when the unemployed run out of benefits how the heck can it not reflect on unemployment! They never track those out of benefits, no reporting or anything. So who and how do they know who found a job or not! The skewed numbers do not add up. 409,000 new claims and thats a rise for the last two weeks and only 100 to 150,000 new jobs added, hello! But a news media showed that 315,000 stopped looking causing unemployment to drop! Numbers do not add up at all.. But they are a success story. So it soon will be we hear IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A JOB YOUR LAZY! They are saying on the news now that 315,000 stopped looking and thats why the rate dropped down to 8.6%... I also say lastly wait until after Christmas, bye bye! to those having temp. jobs and are part of those 150,000 new jobs! someone is a scam artist!

I also sau frustratingly each .1% drop is compared to 200,000 new jobs or more but yet they say only 150,000 new jobs has been created in a month of Nov ! But in a week UE drops to 8.6%... here is what don't add up! There isat least 9 to 15 million out of work. And if unemployment dropped to 8.6% from 9.0 thats 4/10ths of a percent! So if only 100 to 150,000 new jobs created cause unemployment to drop .4% that means that another 150,000 new jobs takes us to 8.2% and another 150,000 new jobs takes us down to 7.8% .. Isn't that 450,000 new jobs and yet prox. 15 million are out of work! I know my math is silly but these are how they are using their figures! So the only answer is so many so called not looking and out of benefits is the only answer! Their numbers do NOT add up!

Lets see! A certain person runs for reelection and uses the unemployment numbers and says" It depends how you look at it". Now that would be the truth! BTW! Not that I am a repub. but guess you can stop blaming the repubs. for unemployment because hey! Look at the UE numbers IMPROVING!!! Hum!

Watch Bloomberg, MSNBC,CNN. All reports are indicating what was said above, over 300,000 ppl this month are "NOT LOOKING". We are looking, we are not counted, we are #99ers. Every report today is very skeptical of this ratio.

Just a note:

It matters little who you will support in November. We need help, we've needed it for two years and the momentum is swinging that we my get what we need. It's up to us. Every member is entitled to vote for whoever they choose, now isn't the time to argue that, and this isn't the thread for it. It's up to us to fight to correct this number, show it for what it really is and get the help we need. 12/2/11 Unemployment Slips to 8.6% as Private Sector Adds Jobs 34243

Unfortunately it is being used as bragging rights at the plight of the unemployed! That's a slap in the 99er's face! On one hand you have repubs. saying extended unemployment lends opportunity to allowing someone to just sit on the couch and on the dems. side they want to win reelection by touting a deception that things ae great and plenty of jobs and we are in a full recovery! I have a big surprise for Obama and other dems. Last year we had the SAME THING! Christmas hiring exactly the same thing the UE rate dropped and they bragged about it and after Christmas temp. help all the lay off's came and boom back up to over 9.4%.. Anyone prove me wrong! The insult is to say a poor unemployed 99er who desperately need money for Christmas and jids to say A. 99er's are not looking..... B. To brag about how great things are getting with deceptive lies for self gain!! Sorry but 2012 will tell a lot! AGAIN! I remember when this happened last year Obama made a speech about it as a success story until it went back up!
