I am so grateful to those who supported and gave me information and views on when I filed for SS disability and also I filed for Viet Nam disabiity for agent orange! I was already on SS at the reduced benefit and that helped me survive but when the stats say SS turns down 90% of applicants the first time and also the VA disability claims also do that 90% roughly. Thanks to God I gt approved for both first time. But the SS disability only went up couple hundred bucks but it helped. And the VA claims was approved for 40% rating which helps tremendously! I will not forget the many many on here who are hurting anf looking for a job! I can't forget the feeling I had when I went to my file drawer and threw away my resume's . OK, I did that because at 64 with my health issues I don't have to look anymore! I pray and will support all those on this forum and the others in their cause of finding a job! I look back and realize what its like. I feel like crying for the many needy. The wallstreet occupationI was first in disagreement but you know, now I think a message must be delivered. It isn't becuase the people want a hand out, its because when so many hurting and desperate fight to survive and take abuse but yet the rich get richer and it is beyond capitalism its about desperation and fairness. How can you cut support for millions hurting and yet let the rich ride off the backs of the hurting and unemployed! It reminds me of the roman days(not that I was there) but the roman soldiers used to say to the slaves"carry my armour and bags a mile". and you did it or else! That is sorta what we live in today!! It isn't right! It is going too far! Help the unemployed get on their feet and when things get better and millions have jobs then let the rich bath in their riches. Once a rich person get fillfithy rich what the hell can they do with it anyway!!
Now lastly it hs hit home! My 32 yr old son who was planning on getting married next June is losing his job at HHGregg as of next friday because the are now contracting out his work.. He is frightened. He has been with them for a numjber of yearI wanted to encourage him but do not want o discourage him but it may be a tough road for him! Here is an example of the polititions talking about eliminating SS.. What do the young people do when they are losing jobs at the time when they should be saving for retirement.. Screwed.. This country is so screwed up by both parties... self serving interest... Prayers to all but I thank God for my blessing of a little more security!! I ain't getting rich but I now can survive and have VA healthcare! I'll will help others as often as I can!!!

I was worried about you, 1208. I am so glad you checked in.

Happy to hear you were approved for disability so quickly. If anyone deserves it, it is the Viet Nam Vets. I have several friends and relatives who have suffered from the effects of Agent Orange, as well as other atrocities witnessed in that "conflict".

Please stay in touch with us!

Jesus, 1208. Your post hit me straight in the gut. I am so so glad that you've won your battle among prior battles. Your son will be okay. You must celebrate together your achievement and tomorrow work on rectifying his pain.

This is America. We need to bring it on home.

I know of your contribution years ago and I'm so so so so so happy for you right here and now!

Jeff
