Karma: A Love Story or What Goes Around Comes Around Kid
I am sure not even the long time members here will remember me relating this story but I found it interesting and it may be of interest to the more vindictive community member.
The back story:
When I first lost my job in 2009, there was this girl who was talking to me and wanted to date. However, the problem I had was that she always talked about the unemployed as if we were all lazy and about how there shouldn't be any unemployment benefits because if you can't find a job then you are obviously worthless and it's socialism (which it is) and on and on and on. I stopped talking to her several times but keep going back because her stupidity is amusing (she once told me that India wasn't in Asia and that the Mexicans colonized the Dominican Republic) and I was bored being a lazy worthless unemployed person.
Well, anyway, jump ahead to yesterday.
She lost her job and filed for unemployment benefits. In the same breath she had the nerve to tell me now that Americans have tasted unemployment benefits, none of us will ever work. As if unemployment benefits were a new thing.
I find this amusing and I hope some you guys do too. I guess what goes around does indeed come around.
She said she would surely have a job before she gets her first unemployment check. I told her that in July of 2009 I thought the exact same thing.

With her amazing intelligence, I wonder what kind of job she worked to begin with.
Re: Karma: A Love Story or What Goes Around Comes Around Kid
Many of us here thought the very thing in early and mid 2008. I am sorry to see anyone lose a job, but it just shows how people really believe in the do as I say, not as I do philosophy. She probably would vote for some of our esteemed Tea Partiers, she follows their philosphies well. It's okay if it's for me, but it's not okay for you.
You are lucky to have not become too involved with her.
Hope you are well lendme.

She doesn't vote thank God.
She actually worked in a car dealership getting leads over the phone. She got fired for sucking. She claims she got fired because she is white. She worked with a group of 10 people, 6 of which are black.
I just said "of course you did". It's the most entertainment I get most days.
I have actually had more luck selling things on ebay in the last couple months than I have looking for a job.
I made enough money to pay my bills for two months and now I go out a couple times a week and look for things that I can ship and make a little profit on. It's working ok.
I told her what I was doing. I said "I'm running my own business, I'm living the American dream!". She replied sarcastically, "Oh yeah that's the American dream alright, why don't you get a job".

Re: Karma: A Love Story or What Goes Around Comes Around Kid
This is a friend you definitely can't count on. Some people are just sour. Besides, when I first got divorced, I took a job at the local honda dealer doing the same thing at night for extra money. It's boring, and after three months, and they like me, I quit. I hate hounding people and strong arming them. Anyway, my point is, not to belittle someone I don't know, but you are making money selling on ebay, which many do as a career, she is working full time trying to set appts. for a car sales dealership, so who is she to put you down. I just don't go for that. If she is looking for car dealership jobs, she just might find one, however, she'll be shocked to realize that now they are really competitive, you have to meet quotas (which by the way is so easy to do in this economy). Most people do not consider that a really good full time job. Many of the dealerships around here only pay salary to the administrative help, even the appt. setters around here are commission or pay per booking. I have looked into it as I had some experience with it, but I am not working 40 hours a week on the off chance I might get people in the door, and you don't get pd per booking, they have to show. The good part is if they buy, you get a commission on that as well. But you can work many, many weeks with no income and it's not draw vs. commission either.
