Time for the jobless to march on Washington

Post by sbraney on Sat Aug 20, 2011 7:10 pm

But the left and the center have their billionaires, too: public-spirited people such as Warren Buffett, Ted Turner, George Soros and Michael Bloomberg. It's time for such people to fund a great protest march that would bring the unemployed right into the congressional offices of tea party representatives.

I found this opinion piece to be very encouraging. I think it is the first time I have seen someone in the mainstream media (CNN) mention rallies and marches by the unemployed. It is long overdue.

I am ready to go anytime!

My hope is that as many people that can do this will, we don't get chances like this to have our voice heard very often.

Calling tomorrow about the bus that is leaving from Boston. If there is room, I am going.

This organization needs what Koch Brothers did for the Beck rally.

The buses are subsidized. The organization is asking for donations from its members, as well as the Labor Unions that will be attending, to sponsor the jobless who can't afford to go. Groups that will have to stay overnight are a little more expensive, but sponsorship is still offered. My trip is $70 from Boston and I have to call their office tomorrow for a sponsor.

Congratulations on the contract extension, and thank you for continuing to support the unemployed!
