Job news Empty Job news

Post by exhaustedandtired/1208 Sun Aug 07, 2011 11:14 am

I bought a Sunday morning paper and got to the jobs classified section and WOW opened the page, as one knows a page is you hold the left side in your left hand and the right side in your right hand. And if there is more than 1 page you flip through them. Well, this mornings job section was (ONE) Page. the hand on the left page had 1/2 page of jobs then the rest of that section was for classifieds and pets. Meaning the left page had about 1/4 page of maybe 15 to 20 jobs and most were get rich scheme's jobs! In good times there was always 5 to 6 pages and sometimes more and the first 3 to 4 pages were good jobs. Sad, Sad! But Obama is going to give money to construction workers and at least put them back to work but NO plan to grow the economy! At least he never says anything about a plan of creations. But he says again and again and again " I will not rest until every American who wants a job, has a job". Then I thought he was smart but beginning to wonder, when his speeches about jobs this week, he said " I am going to concentrate on jobs". Hello! Didn't he say that in 2008, 2009, 2010 and now 2011??? Hello, Mr. President where are you? Or better yet where have you been!!! Lost in space! He says also in his speeches about we need American jobs where things are made in this country wow! Selfserving as usual but he does nothing absolutely about it! I wonder how smart we're going to be in 2012??? All of his speeches he thinks impresses, they do! HIM!

Having lived in NYC for most of my life, I remember the NY papers as having boatloads of job ads, especially the NY Times. I am curious to hear from people in New York who are on this forum. Have you guys noticed a big decline in the want ads also?

All his plan to pump money into construction he knows will keep those who have jobs busy and if many get rehired then he has a so called success story. Like " Things are looking up, we have created 100,000 construction jobs". Hey, Obama, if your going to pump money into construction jobs , isn't that the same effects as giving unemployed out of benefits the same thing! Except you seem to not care about 99er's and out of benefits folks and also the newly unemployed have no tiers now!!! So as time passes even if he gets money for stimulus(which he won't) construction jobs, I guarantee, he may get tiers re extended for new unemployed's but he will do nothing for 99er's.... we'll watch and see. Again he has prioritized the construction sector to get quick bragging right results.. Boy, he is transparent! See right through him! Can't wait til Christmas hiring ( but won't be much) Because those who could hire will get work don with less so they can profit! Anyway if there is Christmas hiring he and Biden will brag about all the jobs the created and things are looking up! Like "Hello you dummies out there"..

Am I angry and frustrated,? YES! Hell YES! And the repubs. say we aren't looking and are the cause of unemployment and more, then to be insulted by Obama that hey, things are really looking up! And listen to their phony lies about jobs creations! If your paper (too old to hire) and mine in a big city is vague and empty think how many more BIG cities have FEW job classifieds, and this is a HELLO' For Obama and Biden, if the jobs classifieds are empty , then where the heck is all those 2 or 3 million jobs coming from in your big speeches. Are we really that dumb???

For those of us who are unemployed or disabled like myself and want to find work at home opportunities, there have been some sites posted on the Internet for work at home:

oDesk.com
Scriptlance.com
Guru.com
Elance.com
RentACoder.com

These sites require you to place bids on work. It is a great concept! However, it pisses me off that they also cater to international workers. Come on give me a break! Even if you are a desperate American and bid $6.00 an hour for a freelance job, there will be people in other countries who will bid $2.00 an hour for the same job. I called out a person who promotes these sites because I feel there should be ones that cater to USA WORKERS ONLY. So tired of hearing how we have to help everyone else. This is another form of outsourcing! This person replied to me that he believes in helping everyone through promoting these sites. While I respect his bleeding heart approach, I don't agree. He said if I had a beef with outsourcing, I should take it up with my congressman. Just needed to vent. Having one of those days!

Elance and such are a SCAM now and it's because of the crap you mentioned. Great in THEORY but a failure in application (for US submission). I tried it for awhile but GOT no results. I felt I could get away with half the pay to get work but the 3rd world dung holes like cockroaches have made slave wage bidding here too a nightmare.

no way could I professionally work for $4 an hour to do PROFESSIONAL work and llive. Sad part is lots of work I did bid was HERE in the US but they went with OUTSOURCING for peanuts.

Thanks so much for your reply. Glad to hear that someone on this forum has actually tried this. The person who runs the Work at Home website promotes himself as wanting to help others. Now I know he is only out for himself. So sorry I fell for his crap.
