We have been told that Republicans are pro growth. We have been told that they are "fiscally responsible". We have been told that they know how to attract jobs. Mostly, we've been told to cut, cut, cut. Cut taxes. Cut regulations. Cut spending. Cut public employees.

I am surprise Ohio did not make it. Not that far behind. Could change very easy with the new Republican Governor we have. Were constantly on the news along with Wisconsin.

This list is just showing the states with the highest unemployment rate. My state Pennsylvania has a 7.6% unemployment rate. We have a Republican Governor and 1 Republican and 1 Democrat in Washington. The PA Legislature has the following:

TOTAL HOUSE MEMBERS: 203
DEMOCRATS: 91
REPUBLICANS: 112

TOTAL SENATE MEMBERS: 50
DEMOCRATS: 20
REPUBLICANS: 30

GRAND TOTAL OF MEMBERS: 253
DEMOCRATS: 111
REPUBLICANS: 142

I feel the unemployment rate is a smokescreen and and does not take into account all the 99ers, especially those of us over 55. So it does appear that PA is run by the Republicans, although not as much as in the states listed above.

As much as it pains me to say this (being a lifelong Democrat) we should also check out the 10 states with the lowest unemployment



STATE UR GOVERNOR SENATORS

NORTH DAKOTA 3.2 Republican SPLIT
NEBRASKA 4.1 Republican SPLIT
SOUTH DAKOTA 4.8 Republican SPLIT
NEW HAMPSHIRE 4.9 Democratic SPLIT
OKLAHOMA 5.3 Republican REPUBLICAN
VERMONT 5.5 Democratic SPLIT (DEM/INDE)
WYOMING 5.9 Republican REPUBLICAN
HAWAII 6.0 Democratic DEMOCRARIC
IOWA 6.0 Republican SPLIT
VIRGINIA 6.0 Republican DEMOCRARIC


Here in Oregon we're at 9.4 and both Senators and the Governor are Democratic
