Democrats Considering Budget Cuts to avoid Govt. Shutdown

Post by Guest on Thu Feb 24, 2011 4:20 pm

First topic message reminder :

They are giving in again, just like they did in December with the Tax Cuts. Who runs this country anyway?

The Election is in Nov of 2012. That will either
elect new or re-elect a President. Also a good
number of seats in the Senate are up as well as
in the House again. Those elected in that election
will take office in Jan of 2013.

I am not sure if you are disagreeing but that is exactly what I said. If you think they aren't looking to 2012 you should think again. They have been since 2008.

I doubt it ... it just doesn't look like Senate Democrats will vote to pass it. Senator Harry Reid came out and said there is agreement on a Senate version of the bill, different from the Republican's version in the House. I suspect that the Federal government is going to end up shutting down because of the simple fact that when they return, Monday will be the 28th.

There hasn't even been a vote on the House version and there's a chance that Democrats won't even allow the House version to proceed to the floor. I think we might see Senator Reid bring the bill to the floor just so that it would fail. Case over. Then we'll see the Senate introduce, vote and pass their version, then send it back to the House where Republicans leaders will renounce that version, make even more cuts and take even longer to pass that version.

Despite what happens, I suspect that we're going to see a klot of infighting between the Senate and the House.

Tell me about it ... I just want Democrats to demand that unemployment benefits be included into the CR. We're tired of waiting for anyone to do anything.
