Giving companies money does not mean they'll hire.

Especially when they have record amounts of cash, like they do now, companies are more likely to use additional capital to re-invest in assets, re-purchase stock, and do other non-hiring-type activities.

But the bottom line remains: uncertain employment gains from an employer-side payroll tax cut; certain damage to the integrity of Social Security, at a time when the program is already under major attack. That is not a good trade-off.

I cant see it working either. the previous tax incentives didnt work so why would this one work.

The problem is that businesses have plenty of money, they're just not spending it. So our government's solution is to give more money to those who already have a ton of it, and ignore the 99ers who are dying out here.

It's been 235 years ago, this 4th of July. Maybe time to do it again, eh?

They can't spend it the President and his advisors and party for that matter could send enough mixed signals about what their economic plan is or what they are going to tax or not tax or anything so they hoard cash until they get a clue or just go overseas where they don't have to work with such incompetence. After this President I hope nobody ever gets elected without any executive experience. He makes Carter look good.
