Brief Moment of Denial

Post by nfpexec on Thu Jun 23, 2011 4:05 pm

I have an interview tomorrow and I have a lot of trouble conveying confidence these days. Since most of 2011 has been spent at home, checking for messages, trolling job postings and wearing sweats, I never take any time to worry about my appearance anymore. So I decided I needed a trial run for tomorrow. I got my curling iron, fixed my hair, experimented with a little makeup and for ONE brief moment I looked in the mirror and saw a person I haven't seen in a very long time. I had to stare for a few moments because I started to remember when that was the norm and not an aberration. That's what i want again to feel like a person because I don't ever feel that way. I want that person in the mirror to be the real me not the detached moody depressed anti-social persona I am fighting against.

You rock, nfpexec! You have confidence in abundance. Show them who you are.
Good luck, my friend.
