Employment Picture Even Grimmer Than You Think

Post by Guest on Fri Jun 03, 2011 1:40 pm

As you can see, the last eight months, when the economy has supposedly been starting to recover, has actually been virtually flat. Relative to population growth, we've been generating no new jobs at all.

So yes: "Any sane person should look at these numbers and conclude that the economy desperately needs a boost." Even the not especially sane ought to have figured that out by now.

Oh these people who say things are getting better-they're not stupid-just big liars. They don't care-they have jobs as professional liars.

The average duration of unemployment in the US is now at 39.7 weeks, the highest such rate since data started being collected in 1948. pouty

I expect that to continue to trend upward. I know a lit of folks in my private life who are unemployed for over a year now. The ones who have managed to find work have taken huge paycuts and not even a 40hr work week.
