LEFT OF THE RIGHT: Why Republicans Hate The Poor
The first and foremost reason Republican’s hate the poor is that the poor are a constant reminder that someone had to lose for them to win. And the saddest part is that it isn’t true. No one lost in order for them to succeed, but that’s the way they see the world. For Republican’s, we live in a dog eat dog, survival of the fittest world. How sad it is that they don’t see the world we so-called liberal’s see. We see a world where there is more than enough for everyone. All we need to do is change our priorities. But they see a world of finite wealth and you better get yours or you might get left out.

The whole problem is that the elites subscribe IMO to Malthusian thought, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Malthusian_catastrophe, which to summarize, basically says that there is only so much so better get yours to survive.
Problem is, Malthus lived before the Industrial Revolution took off. The world didn't starve, in fact we all prospered. Technical advances have given everyone more, but the so-called elites are too isolated form reality to realize that this is not a zero-sum game and giving us a fair share need not diminish their plenty. In fact, they are in danger of falling to the abused masses who themselves are just trying to survive. Proof positive that the so-called elites are not smarter than us and we must educate them by any means necessary.

It's worth remembering that EUC Tier's One and Two passed the House and Senate and were signed into law by Republican Bush. Tiers three and four passed the House and then the Senate with almost one hundred percent support by Republicans. Republicans are also responsible for passing the tax break on unemployment benefits. Republicans have also repeatedly passed every extension of EUC, differing from Democrats only on the means for funding. So all this talk about Republicans in general not caring is simply untrue if reality is the benchmark.

HR 3548, the bill that enacted Tiers 3 and 4 was introduced in the House in July, 2009. It passed the Democratic controlled House with ease. It was stalled and was held up in the Senate from September through mid-November, 2009 by Republican filibustering. I remember it very clearly. I had just ended my state EB when the Senate debate began. The Republicans added amendments and changes to the bill before passing it on a Thursday evening, therefore, it had to go back to the House. They passed it the next morning and President Obama signed PL 111-92 into law Friday afternoon.
That was my first experience watching the Senate in action on CSpan and was shocked by the games the GOP played with people's lives. I joined UF1 right after that nightmare.

It was indeed a "nightmare", thats somewhat of understatement, and such nightmare don't recall it now as it was a blur and daze from that time on, well actually dating back to summer of '08 when major debate and legislature was 1st enacted under George W. regime.
