Post by Jobless_in_Ma Sun May 08, 2011 5:19 pm

Hi folks, so I just went to claim my weekly unemployment certification and had 1 week of checks left. Well I got a message now saying that my Benefit year end has come up and if I worked to call them.

Now this is not my BYE, just last week I got a message saying that on June 5th my benefit year would come up, and that is correct.

Now Im not able to claim my last week.

Has anyone experienced the same thing?
Figures my last week I have to deal with this BS from them.

On Friday I double checked my account and verified I had one week to go in my account. Now my balance is Zero...

[solved]Ma unemployment website issues 5/8/11 Empty MA Website says my claim has expired

Post by Saltydog33 Sun May 08, 2011 5:22 pm

Hi Guys,
I am 8 weeks into tier 3. Today as I was told my claim has expired. I was told to call to see if I quailfy to open a new claim. I am so confused because I still have 5 weeks on tier 3. I will call this week and see what is going on, but I was just wondering if anyone else has this problem.
Thanks

Thanks Jim
I feel better that I am not the only one. I had to do a quick check to see if they had changed the rules on us again. I am willing to bet it is just a Ma. website goof again. You are right it will be hard to get through on the phone. I am hoping it is a problem with the website and they will fix it tomorrow and then we can file online. I am so sorry to hear this is your last check. Sending prayers and fingers crossed for you.

I had the same problem. I tried to submit my claim today and was notified that my claim has expired. I had two weeks remaining. It now shows a zero balance. I am hoping that there is a glitch in the system

oh boy, I hope it is just a glitch. Praying

Last summer my husband thought he had 2 weeks left and he ended up being wrong somehow. He still thinks it was there fault and that something was off on their end. The same thing happened to my 2 sis in laws. Keep trying to contact them and talk to someone. I hope it works out ok for you all. good luck!

OH boy just in this post alone there are some soon to be 99ers.
HR589 needs to be passed and immediately.

For our new members here please see the HR589 forum for info on a bill to provide 14 more weeks of unemployment insurance. It is currently held up in the House ways and means committee. Please help to advocate for this. It helps ALL unemployed. The 14 weeks are added to tier1.

I'm so glad I found 'unemployed-friends2.org' today - I have literally spent the whole day trying to figure out why my benefit year has expired - any new legislation passed, etc. I hope what several of you have said is true - it's a 'goof' on the part of MA Umemployment Services website - and we will all be able to file tomorrow.

[solved]Ma unemployment website issues 5/8/11 Empty Two checks left on Tier 1 and today Zero Balance

Post by epson Sun May 08, 2011 9:57 pm

Hey All,

Saw all the posts about the possible glitch going on with the website. I filed this afternoon and of course it told me the same thing that it told you all - ZERO BALANCE!!
Now I'm still on Tier 1 and had two checks left. I tried to file anyway, and it let me. I went through as normal and it told me that I'll get a check on Monday.
Those of you who had the same message, the zero balance - did you try to certify through the system anyway?

Now it let me file the claim and it shows my correct remaining balance...but this is what it said "The following message was provided to you on May 8, 2011. This information may no longer be applicable. Our records indicate that you have no benefits remaining on this claim. If you are still unemployed after November 13, 2010 and you worked in the past 15 months, you may file a new claim."

I have about 3 weeks left on tier 3. After I put my claim in today using web cert I received a message saying that I have not earned enough to be eligible for benefits. They must be having an issue, b/c that doesn't make sense.

[solved]Ma unemployment website issues 5/8/11 Empty Issues re 5/8/2011

Post by Jobless Mon May 09, 2011 11:01 am

I received a 13 week extension on 4/3/11. I have a copy of the Benefit Determination Form. I have only collected 4 weeks of it. When I called yesterday, I was devastated when the recording said that I did not have an active claim. I heard from others that they got the same announcement so I called this morning and finally got through and called in my whole claim and then at the end got an announcement that said:

Based on the information we have received, you have not earned enough money to qualify for benefits. A notice explaining your monetary determination has been mailed to you.

This devastated me even more. What about the 13 week extension I already have? Can they just take that away?

Yes, thank you Fang. I e-mailed them right after I read your post, and everything is straightened out. Thank you. Much easier than trying to call them and being told you cannot talk to them until Thursday!
