Economic Downturn and Bush Policies Continue to Drive Large Projected Deficits
Some lawmakers, pundits, and others continue to say that President George W. Bush’s policies did not drive the projected federal deficits of the coming decade — that, instead, it was the policies of President Obama and Congress in 2009 and 2010. But, the fact remains: the economic downturn, President Bush’s tax cuts and the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq explain virtually the entire deficit over the next ten years.

Re: Economic Downturn and Bush Policies Continue to Drive Large Projected Deficits
Hello! Its Obama's ball to carry now. To continue to bring Bush into this is weak! Obama supported the Bush tax cuts... And he will still be in the middle and maybe leaning to the right! Better wait and see if dems. help pass the bills robbing the remaining extensions and also see if Obama signs off on them.. Then afterwards if we still need to blame Bush, well have at it! Bush broke everything down for us and the repubs. also. It was on their watch.. OK, but the Obama "I inherited this" is null and void. Its about unemployed and hello, Mr. President.. You still will not rest until every American who wants a job can have a job!! Hello!!

I knew this thread would get your attention!
It is NOT null and void. We are still suffering the effects of 8 years of bad policy decisions under the Bush administration and will continue to for years. Did you read the whole article?
You are right about one thing, it is in President Obama's hands right now, but he can't undue 8 years of total economic devastation in 2 years. He is not God!

HELLO!, are you still saying Obama supported the Bush tax cuts? I mean really. I know you are aware the unemployment benefits were to be cut off to Millions of unemployed and his hands were tied on this. THE ONLY WAY THIS WAS GOING TO PASS WAS A COMPROMISE!!! That compromise happened and he went on record MANY times saying he was not happy with this.
Once again in case you missed it. OBAMA did not support the Bush tax cuts PERIOD.
