Hello, Longtime viewer, first time poster...

Hi everyone,

I've looked at this and other sites over the last couple of years with a lot of interest. There are often stories that are helpful to know, etc. Thanks for all the information.

The reason I am writing this post tday is to say that I have finally given up. I did a lot of phoning, faxing, emailing our congress, the president, senators etc... but there comes a time when you realize that it's the same as beating a dead horse. They just don't care. I am not trying to change anyone elses' mind, so keep doing what you are doing if it makes you feel better, but I am giving up. As a long time unemployed, I don't think there is a lot more I can take.

This world is too corrupt, criminal, cold and heartless. There are so few understanding, empathetic people, and often when you do feel you are being heard, (ala Stabenow) they hurt you more deeply than your enemies by turning their backs.

I am throwing in the towel, waving the white flag, giving up. I am nothing. The unemployed do not matter. If you are older and unemployed, you are worthless. This message is loud and clear. I will soon be homeless, and I am beyond the fear. I welcome the peace that will come at a time of my choosing.

The final peace that you speak of will affect the lives of the people who care about you and you leave behind. They will never find peace with your "solution".

Stay with us. Vent. Pray. Cry. But WE need you. At least you care enough about yourself to have found us and posted. Life is not about whether or not you have a job at the moment. This is a temporary situation and we will all get through it. People have different ways of coping. Read through some of our threads, take hope in knowing that our voices are beginning to be heard in Congress.

Never stop believing that something good will happen. It is what keeps all of us here going on a daily basis.

I am Bi-Polar and feel like Giving up everyday. But my hatred for that damn congress burns soooooo deep that it keeps me going. The only thing I can offer to you is an Apology for the mess The Government has gotten us into. I hope you call one of the phone numbers in the above posts to get some help. Just know you are not alone in your thoughts, but we need you and every single other person on here to support and fight when nobody else will.
