Faux job numbers could lead to real trouble

In other words, you still might not be able to get a job in the real world, but there should be plenty of fake jobs for the newspapers to write about and the politicians to brag about in speeches. Why should you care?

If you are just a regular person reading this column you should be appalled that Washington has trouble getting its numbers right. But wait, there's more.

speaking of "fake jobs".....

Last week my company posted ads for almost every position (including mine, btw) in almost every one of our stores in California. When you click on an ad, the first thing it reads is: This job may not be available at this time.

The company is planning a "reorganization" to go live in May, when I expect to lose my 13.5/hr week position. Since they have announced that "some positions will be affected," most likely they are covering their collective arse with these ads.

So it's not just temporary agencies that regularly post positions that don't exist. It could be a corporation just feeling out the job pool, sheesh kabeesh.

And our opponents write articles that say "I see kazillions of job postings ouit there!" after they do a perfunctory search of the job site.

Hi feyth! Sorry to hear about your job. What a scam! I wish I could see the jobs these people are claiming are out there. Everytime I respond to one I start getting solicitation calls and junk mail but now response from the employer.

Very good, very good. I am already flipped the f out, I am ready.

I suppose we're witnessing first-hand how this country's government operates and how fony their statistics are. When most if not all of us were gainfully employed, and factory and steel workers were losing their jobs back in the 80's, the government lied about them too, making everyone THINK that those people were able to find work in either the same or different industries. I can only imagine just how many of them were simply swept under the rug too.

This country is so vast, the government can continue to lie about economic conditions, even when everything is collapsing around us. It reminds me of an interesting story I read recently, how citizens in the former Roman Empire didn't realize for decades, even generations that Rome had fallen!

I pray that the same thing isn't happening here! God Help America!!

As election time rolls around, get the Pepto ready because it is going to be nauseating-the lies, the attacks, the blame the unemployed and poor-here it comes!
