I was watching something and this movie came up: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=el3Zm5HgK4g&feature=related. Incidentally, I am also working on my movie database and I have this movie (one of my faves). Anyway, this is a movie that really contrasts the differences between the habe/have nots. This is also in my opinion one of the times they got it right with book translation (the book is one of my faves too).

Another movie that really hits home is Seabiscuit. While the story is about the horse, the times that it is set in (Depression area) is a parallel to what we are currently going through.

Sea Biscuit is an excellent film.

Yes that is. For some reason I've been thinking a lot of Depression movies lately. Another one is the Grapes of Wrath. Reminds me a lot of today.

John Steinbeck wrote some amazing Pulitzer Prize books. It wasn't until many years later that I saw the movie version of the Grapes of Wrath.

I've been reading a lot of Steinbeck lately. I've always liked him but more so as of late.
