The good news is that all but the laziest Americans are back in the green now that the economy is going full steam ahead again after a few months of modest cutting back on luxuries. Not only do we have job offers coming out of our ears, but also thanks to the mere arrival of a Republican majority in the House of Representatives, it seems nearly everybody is getting a raise. Laissez les bon temps rouler!

Yeah Ryan's 10 year budget plan cuts $4 trillion dollars off the deficit and REDUCES the tax rate for the top 2% of earners by 10%, ANOTHER 10%.

So where do these savings come from? Medicare, medicaid and higher taxes on us.

All cuts are from DOMESTIC spending. NOT DEFENSE and Foreign Policy.

Maybe it's time to bring back indentured servitude. Just don't bring back debtor's prison! Or maybe, that's the only way some of us are going to get healthcare. That would be ironic-go to debtor's prison because of medical bills and then get free medical care there. Of course if the rich get that kind of tax break-they should be able to create millions of jobs-according to the repub mantra.

They hoard their money like squirrels do nuts in the winter time. They pass it along to the next generation and they all play golf. The only money they do spend is on politicians, so no wonder the gov wants to make sure they have more to donate to campaigns.

I think it's funny the Dems can’t even acknowledge there is a problem just keep on spending and finally somebody anybody points it out and boom; besides it can't get any worse than the Dem mantra. Reality is that we need to raise taxes and cut ALL SPENDING it's time for defense everything to be on the table and especially entitlements. Like in animal farm when the most productive are burden by the least productive something has got to give it may be sound mean it may mean hard choices but it's right on time. No lets apply some battlefield triage and get back in the fight.

Ok I get that the left has a love affair with wealth redistribution, supported by the left-leaning media and “social justice” mouth pieces but if we just use basic math and dissect some of the commonly-used income statistics will see that the alleged “inequality” is actually nowhere near as un-equal as assumed. Use the fricken Census income distribution figures which are the foundation of most class-warfare rhetoric and social justice BS. On the surface, these figures show a high level of inequality: The top fifth of households have $14.30 of income for every $1.00 at the bottom and that’s where the left stops.... why? Let’s go further
Those figures are flawed because by the exclusion of taxes and all the social safety net spending and by the fact that the “fifths” do not contain equal numbers of people lol. If we adjustment for these factors then suddenly and radically altered the picture of income distribution does become: The top fifth of the population has $4.21 of income for every $1.00 at the bottom.
Now I will give you that the remaining inequality in society is heavily influenced by the lack of work at the bottom. If working-age adults in the lower group worked as much as their higher-income counterparts, the income disparity of the top to the bottom quintiles would fall to $2.91 to $1.00 which is why our jackass elected reps should be focusing on jobs period. But isn’t it much easier to just take from the earners and skew math to help preach this bull..
So true still, the top fifth of U.S. households (with incomes above $84,000) remain targets of class-warfare lol. These families, however, perform a third of all labor in the economy; a fricken 3rd. They contain the best educated and most productive workers, and they provide a disproportionate share of the investment needed to create jobs and spur economic growth. Nearly all are married-couple families, many with two or more earners. Far from shirking the tax burden, these families pay 82.5 percent of total federal income taxes and two-thirds of federal taxes overall. By contrast, the bottom group pays 1.1 percent of total federal taxes so why should anybody be defending this group or feeling sorry for them? Because of the lefts obesion with self-esteem, preceived fairness and of course feelings, so it shouldn’t be surprising; nobody gets a blue ribbon for first place, we all get a ribbon for just being there.

Yes, Tristen I see what you are saying, but it seems like your logic would apply ONLY look at it this one particular way. If you compare the bottom to the top it is obvious that there is a disparity. This may not be fair, But if you only compare people who are in similar tax brackets together it isn't fair then either. It looks like your data compares groups of tax payers to make them appear more balanced but they aren't. You talk about wealth re-distribution like it's a bad thing but then Paul Ryan's bill is nothing but wealth re-distribution. The difference is he distributes it in the other direction, to the wealthy. Robin Hood in reverse.

nothing wrong in wealth redistribution IF it's applied to the COMMON good of THIS nation. But then again, the rich have no REAL national loyalty.
