1977.......

Post by Guest on Sat Apr 02, 2011 8:31 pm

First topic message reminder :

I was 10 years old then.

Star Wars first came out, Everything was good... My Real family was alive.

Christmas was a event, I was happy.

The music was good, TV was good, People were different (they cared about each other).... Times really have changed SUX!!!

Technology has changed, now I can listen to my music on my computer instead of records or tapes...OR have my whole Movie collection on my computer also.

To me that is the ONLY good thing about these times, really nothing else is good.

What is your fond memories of 1977?

I voted for Carter in '76! And I remember "Billy Beer"! After all the negotiating Carter did to release the hostages in Iran, the Ayotolla released them on the day Reagan was inaugurated. It was a big slap in the face for Carter.

Well, there were those of us who did and do think Reagan had something to do with that and that it smelled kind of treason-ey. But we are conspiracy nuts so you shouldn't pay any attention to us. Wink

There is a lot of evidence to show that Reagan's "group" had finally negotiated the release of the hostages but purposely had them held until his inauguration. He kept the hostages in harm's way to make it look like Iran was afraid of him.

1977 was not a good year for me. I separated from my first wife in June and in July I met someone who seemed to care about me but she pulled the rug from under me in 1978 (so much for rebound relationships!). Music of the times included Rumours by Fleetwood Mac and Hotel California by Eagles. I was working for a vending supply company which required a lot of driving. I turned 26 in September of that year. It was a year I would love to forget but it is burned into my memory forever.
