The GOP View: Let Democrats pay unemployment benefits from their own coffers as reparations for destroying jobs.

Post by Guest on Mon Mar 28, 2011 6:31 pm

Hence, House Democrats are now pushing for a vote to extend unemployment benefits once again. John Boehner and Eric Cantor have agreed to meet with Barbara Lee (D-CA) and Bobby Scott (D-VA) to discuss HR 589, the “Emergency Unemployment Compensation Expansion Act of 2011″. This bill would extend unemployment benefits another 14 weeks even for the “99ers”, those who have maxed out on their benefits after 99 weeks of unemployment. Originally, Lee and Scott were denied a meeting with GOP leadership because their bill would add another $16 billion to the deficit. However, since they have offered to fund the $16 billion extension with spending offsets, Boehner and Cantor are willing to discuss the bill. A spokesman for Boehner said that the Speaker is committed to keeping an open door policy for members of both parties.

extend unemployment welfare yet again. Will Republicans continue to obediently follow them in accelerating more creeping socialism?

Better than CORPORATE jackboot Fascism.

Fascism is a radical, authoritarian nationalist political ideology.[1][2] Fascists seek to organize a nation according to corporatist perspectives, values, and systems, including the political system and the economy.[3] They advocate the creation of a totalitarian single-party state that seeks the mass mobilization of a nation and the creation of an ideal "new man" to form a governing elite through indoctrination (fox nEWS), physical education, and family policy including eugenics.[4] Fascists believe that a nation requires strong leadership, singular collective identity, and the will and ability to commit violence and wage war in order to keep the nation strong.[5] Fascist governments forbid and suppress opposition to the state.[6]

Isn't that where we are NOW or sure on the FAST TRACK to it!!!

Yep, if the tea party had their way we would already be there. I have been screaming about fascism since I first joined UFF and people keep telling me how crazy I am. These same people damn Obama for his "socialism". Let's see how crazy this sounds a year from now.

At the bottom of the article "Call your republican House member and tell him/her to oppose the establishment of a permanent unemployment entitlement. "

They will call. When I called Boehner's office and asked for him to co-sponsor H.R. 589, after I explained what the Bill was, one of the first things the staffer on the other end said was the Tea Party 'will have a fit if UI goes over 99 weeks'. Then the staffer asked how long I thought UI should go and I replied 'until the economy Boehner and his crew crashed, fixes it.' We have to make sure we call more than they do.

The tea party will have a fit if benefits goes over 99weeks !?!? That was the best answer the staffer could come up with? I could not care less how upset the tea party is. It would have been difficult for me not to laugh at this. Oh, well, let millions go hungry so Michelle bachmann doesn't get upset.

Yes, that's what he said, the tea party will have a fit at any UI over 99 weeks. Then he repeated the 99 weeks is enough BS. He wasn't talking about the tea party people like Bachmann who are in office, he meant the ones who vote that they are kissing the ass of to stay in office. The answer just shows how afraid they are of them and how they kiss their asses and don't do the right thing just so they can stay in office. The answer didn't make me laugh at all, honestly that answer angered me and the guy almost hung up on me after I said what I had to say about that BS.

Well, it's like Upton Sinclair said in the 30's. "When fascism comes to America it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross".

Everyone should read his book "It can't happen here" if they haven't already. You can read it for free online.

Well, they can AFFORD to have a fit as most of the TEA PARTY are employed and or financially secure. Not many tea party people protesting UI Extensions after they lose their house.

The Tea Party doctrines remind me of another book I read......

The doctrine of racial struggle, which is the cornerstone of his philosophy and which he regarded as the "iron logic of Nature." He believed in the survival of the fittest, insisting adamantly that races must struggle or else they will be doomed to extinction. "Mankind has grown great in eternal struggle," he wrote, "and only in eternal peace does it perish." He deemed the Aryans to be the master race, "forever kindling anew that fire of knowledge which illumined the night of silent mysteries and thus caused man to climb the path to mastery over the other beings of this earth." - excerpt from Mein Kamph

.........and the Party's philosophy is spreading throughout the country like wildfire. The GOP can't act based on their own principles with taking the Tea Party ideology into consideration.

These comparisons are too scary to even think about. It is time to wake up, America, or head for the hills, out of sight of the members of the new "superior" Party that has taken this country by storm in the past two or three years!
