Obama Jilts Jobless
http://www.truthdig.com/report/item/obama_jilts_the_jobless_20110412/
In his eagerness to compromise with the Republican right, President Barack Obama has forgotten the still-suffering victims of the recession: the long-term unemployed who range from the poorest Americans to those barely holding on to their place in the middle class.

Re: Obama Jilts Jobless
I've been thinking about Japan. Worried about those people, very scary. Perhaps Obama will buy them an island or give them Hawaii, by the way he was born there it's all relevant in the grand SCREAM of things. You see Ive lost it. The money is there for everyone but middle class Americans. But we are going to carry American on our backs, not the rich. Did anyone see the pie chart on the Ed Show yesterday? Sending for our Military was half the pie the other half was all other countrys....they just love to strong arm everyone. Confused, yes I am.

"National Economic Council Director Gene Sperling - Summers' replacement"
The other day I was having a conversation with a friend and said, the sick thing about Obama is that he ABSOLUTELY understood what caused the economic problems in this country - if you listened to his campaign rhetoric - he clearly placed the blame and promised to bring change. I commented that he is either as indecent as Clinton or was shown the Zabruder film once he arrived in the White House. As it turns out, the guy in the above photo wrote many of Obama's speeches which is why Obama "knew" what he was talking about - Sperling, along with Summers and Rubin was one of the architects of our disaster - these bastards are beyond cynical. They are cold blooded, corrupt, gangsters, guilty of treason and every damned one of them belongs in front of a firing squad for the hell they have created around the world. Obama not only has the audacity to bring back one of the chief financial disaster madmen - most of whom were also Goldman Sachs CEOs, but places the architects who created the disaster in charge of fixing the mess - or covering up the crimes they committed. The robbery has been a bipartisan effort folks - we get the bill.
The American people need to decide they've had enough and let the revolution begin. It is time we take back everything these thugs have stolen from us and everybody else around the world. If we don't at least acknowledge their crimes the so-called terrorists will have no mercy on us either if we continue to remain docile and willfully ignorant. They don't have anything to lose now either...
We need working class representation - no more excuses - NOT Wall Street hookers.

Re: Obama Jilts Jobless
Obama reminds me of Reagan. All he has left to do is say unemployment is a paid vacation....by his silence on the subject he might as have well have said it already.

Re: Obama Jilts Jobless
Give Obama a little credit-he did sign the 99 weeks of UI. I think he doesn't say much about the long term unemployed because there isn't much he can do. With the repubs in charge of the budget, there will be no more government aid passed. Without stimulus, nobody really has an answer for job creation. Who in Congress would commit political suicide by saying the U.S. will never have the economy it had and the middle class is shrinking?

The Obama Administration did not sign the 99 weeks of UI. The first 26 weeks were regular state UI and some time in the summer of 2008, the Bush Administration signed the first Federal Extensions. The last 20 -26 weeks are state EB, that several states are now cutting due to the false reporting of the drop in the unemployment rate.
I believe President Obama only authorized Tiers 3 and 4.

I voted for Obama the first time but may not in 2012. In fact I might vote for Sen Bernie Sanders as a write-in. Sanders seems to be the only one with any sense at all in Washington...

Great idea. I think I might do the same thing! Vermont is lucky to have such an outspoken Senator. Too bad our politicians don't take a lesson from Bernie and speak up for their constituents.

Re: Obama Jilts Jobless
When I was working there were always disguntal people who would say they would quit. I would always say "the job will go on with or without you". With all the 99ers out there the country and business has gone on without us. So why give us additional weeks, to be nice? The gov doesn't do anything nice, they only do for votes.
Starting to really think we are done, just because everything moved forward without us. We don't count. We are men and women without an economy.
