Because of the problems happening in Libya, the Dow Jones Industrial Average took a serious hit, dropping over 170 points. While I hate to see our economy take a hit, Republicans won't agree to emergency spending for unemployment benefits unless the economy is taking a serious hit. I actually pray every day that the Dow keeps taking hits and sinks below 10,000. We really need something to inspire Republicans to pass emergency unemployment benefits.

It will take a hit very soon. We are going to see a day like we did in 2008 when it fell almost 1,000 points in one day. With all that is going on around the world and with the US economy the way it is today, it is inevitable. I lost a lot of my 401(k) in the fall of '08.

I saw that ... now watch it go higher than that when it rebounds ... I'm waiting for the crash because Wall Street cannot continue its increase because of where the economy and unemployment are at.

Since many of us don't have anything left in the 401Ks. I would like it to crash to 5,000. Mostly the rich are in the market now! Even its going to be bad, then that could be good for the poor and bad for the rich. We know how to survive on Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwiches.

the rich need a REAL hard kick to the nads for sure. Evil or Very Mad if anything just to bring them down a notch or 2 or 12.

True. Other extensions went through very quickly when the news was bad and people who still had jobs were worried. The 10-15% of the people in this country that are really hurting will not be addressed until the majority is scared.

The New York Stock Exchange: Daily Updates (3-16-2011) 895764 ooops! Did I say that? I totally agree with you. I lost a lot of mine in 2008 and what I didn't lose I have had to use to survive for the past year since becoming a "99er". This time when it crashes, it will be like Black Tuesday in 1929, the "rich" will suffer the most.

This is all so ironic, it is history repeating itself. In 1930 President Hoover claimed that “the worst was over”, this statement appeared to be 11 years too early. Sound familiar?

You know your history Des.InRI !!! And what happened in 1941? The United States entered World War II and as a result there were jobs, good paying jobs for all (factories etc.). Well, since there is no surge of production for our country in the near future, what will pull us out this time?

That is why the rich would like to see many of us die. Were excess population that is not needed.

Our benefits are coming out of their pockets. That sounds like the other Governors, people are protesting about. This is a conspiracy! The New York Stock Exchange: Daily Updates (3-16-2011) 806957

CNN just said gas could be $5 per gallon this summer. The oil companies are already making great profits. Perhaps we should nationalize these oil companies.

Oh, it's bound to get worse but how much you want to bet that the Dow rises tomorrow before the weekend begins? It happens just about every Friday. When the Dow takes losses during the week, it always seems to rally on Friday to give investors a good weekend,

Wow, so selling a common stock on the NYSE
is akin to stealing from the American People.

Note: I have a modest IRA in which I hold stock
in 12 companies. One of which is Disney ( DIS )
which I got for a song when my Pixar investment
got transferred onto DIS stock.

IMO Stock manipulation is the world
of the Day Trader. That's an area where
everyone steals from everyone else
and ends up with a coronary at the
end of the week if you didn't steal
enough to finish in the black.

It looks like 12,000 is a technical base.
At least for now. Those of us who stuck
with Boeing ( BA ) are making some
coin. We look for another bump in the
fall with the first 787 deliveries.
